Stand back, David Beckham --- Gunther may look like a soccer ball, but look closely --- he's furry, and cute, and he doesn't want anything to do with balls!

The poor boy had a close call with a wrecking ball in Salt Lake City. It seems Gunther was living as a stray in an abandoned building that got torn down --- if he hadn't been saved by a local rescue group, he would have been bulldozed right along with the building!

Whew, now he's safe and he feels the need to exercise a little control in his life. If you want to pet Gunther, you have to play by his rules and that means sitting on the floor. As soon as he sees you sitting, that's Gunther's sign to come on over and get some loving. And he will let you love on him all you can once he's given you the green light. But you have to be sitting down; that's non-negotiable!

Gunther's only issue is his ears --- they need to be cleaned on a regular basis. Other than that, he's ready to relax and be the friendly cat he knows he can be (even when you're standing!) in a loving forever home. Gunther would be happy to share his house with other cats, dogs and even children. Or not. Just a good home with at least one loyal affectionate person (and Q-tips!) is all he wants!
